60 DAYS OF GAMING: DECADE ANNIVERSARY - DAY 9: SADDEST SCENE

 Then: Bastila's breaking

Now: Kassandra's (or Alexios') unbreaking. Spoilers ahead.

There are many possible endings for Odyssey, depending on both your actions and your choices. Mine was one of the better ones, with only Brasidas from your close family circle ending up dead (apart from Phoebe and Pythagoras that die regardless of your choices)

And while Bastila's breaking remains super sad, this one specific ending has that bittersweet feel that is so hard to beat.

Your character has gone through so much hardship, so much violence, and has ostensibly become a demigod, a human above regular mortals and their affairs. Yet still spares Nikolaos and Stentor, rescues Myrrine and through heart and love, not sword and spear, redeems their long-estranged sibling.

The brother and sister embrace with their mother at the top of that hill, fully letting go of all the hatred, the brainwashing, their long-held belief that they would end up killing each other, that it was too late to go back. It's a new start, one that they didn't dare hope for, while at the same time mourning the ones lost along the way. It's a cathartic moment, and one that makes my eyes moisten merely recollecting it now.
