Gah!

I suppose it's one of those days: you are just idly browsing the internet, and you get the urge to go back to a game you're detoxing from. Azeroth has seen me come and go so many times it might as well install a cat-flap.

The reason for this particular relapse is the current state of DPS, as I stumbled into it:

Mage - Arcane 30764
Priest - Shadow 30199
Hunter - Marksmanship 30067
Warlock - Affliction 29547
Druid - Balance 28751
Mage - Fire 28614
Death Knight - Frost 27733
Warrior - Fury 27641
Rogue - Combat 27187
Warrior - Arms 26785
Rogue - Assassination 26572
Warlock - Destruction 26517
Paladin - Retribution 26475
Hunter - Survival 25875
Druid - Feral Cat 25635
Shaman - Enhancement 25598
Warlock - Demonology 25557
Shaman - Elemental 25480
Death Knight - Unholy 24133
Hunter - Beast Mastery 22569
Mage - Frost 19073
Rogue - Subtlety 18953

This basically means that my prot warrior (dualspecced arms for dps) fire mage (dualspecced frost for PvP and soloing) , and my Unholy Death Knight (dualspecced frost for utility) all slid down the ladder so far down I need to just get in there and recpec the crap out of them. I wish this didn't sound like a rant, because it's not. I'm not complaining about the changes; the game needs to shake things up every now and then to stay interesting. My only gripe is that I can't currently play it.

Other than that, for those of you that are not aware of the site, State of DPS is a great tool/guideline for those of you who are aiming for the best-possible DPS at any one time. Just don't get obsessed with it. No one likes someone who obsesses over his DPS in favour of failing at fight mechanics and gets the entire raid wiped. Remember, DPS only counts so long as the fight succeeds.
