60 Days of gaming: Decade Anniversary - Day 1: My First Game

A decade ago (almost to the day), I was in the middle of a mini blog.

Its purpose was simple: based on a viral facebook questionnaire to share with your peers (these were all the rage in my circles and feeds at the time), I had decided to take (and expand) one of these lists to what became a fun little side-project for me.

The time has come to do so again.

Why?

Simply because in the last decade, I have played many more games, across many more platforms. I don't know the answers to the questions I will pose yet, and it will be genuinely fun for me to find out (with an audience).

After all, the last time around I had just gotten an Xbox 360, had yet to delve too deeply in its unique library, and had not even so much as touched another console since the original Gameboy. However, even if I had, it's been a long time. Like, more than the lifetime of PS4-long. A lot of stuff came out in that time.

Simply for posterity's sake, I have decided to keep the exact same categories. This will allow for a more direct comparison, and will be able to show me which games will squeeze out last decade's winners on some categories, and which ones remain unsurpassed.

Kicking off Day 1: My First Game

This remains unchanged, naturally. It's Sokoban.

Quoting from the last time I wrote about it:
In truth, I'm not sure Sokoban was my first game. It definitely was one of the 2-3 first, though, back when 5'25'' floppies were all the rage. Thinking about it today, it's probably influenced my gaming style up until today, made me approach every bit of dialogue, every encounter, every skirmish and every riddle as a puzzle that had to be solved as efficiently as possible.
